FIRE PLAN SUBMITTALS: 

The COVER SHEET portion of the fire alarm submittal package contains a multitude of information. Typically, this page will contain The who what where of the site, as well as the scope of work, bill of materials, legends, matrix, sheet index, as well as the project analysis which contains applicable codes, occupancy classifications applying to your site, as well as your AHJ


The WIRING DETAILS portion of the fire alarm submittal package typically contains the riser diagram, battery calculations for the panel and power supply as applicable, voltage drop calculations, as well as the wiring details of the fire alarm devices, fire alarm panel, and also the mounting requirements for all of the fire alarm components. On large addressable fire alarm systems, sometimes the riser diagram and battery calculations get pushed to the cover page to conserve on the number of pages in the fire alarm submittal package.

The FLOOR PLAN pages depending on the size of the facility will be either in 1/4" or 1/8" scale (also depends on the requirements of your AHJ) is typically a single page. If you have multiple floors that are identical and "typical" most AHJs will allow one floor to be illustrated. If that is not possible, each floor that is unique of another will be drawn on consecutive pages. I have attached a TYPICAL multi floor facility for you to better understand. This is all subject to change depending on the type of fire alarm system, fire alarm installer requests, and the AHJ reviewing the fire alarm submittal package.

ON SITE TO CAD / BLUEPRINTS TO CAD:

The following DRAWING is an example of a customer having badly damaged blueprints, the inability to locate another set, and ICD having the job of taking the damaged blueprints, as well as some on site time and measurements to create an accurate set of floorplans for multiple levels that could be used for a renovation as well as CCTV and Fire Alarm upgrades.
